Avant-garde Punk Band chromatic BLaCK Wins MTVu’s Freshman Music Video Contest


OK! Good Records artist, chromatic BLaCK wins the MTVu’s Freshman Music Video Contest, the week of April 26th.

This week’s winner for the MTVu Freshman Video Contest is chromatic BLaCK, an avant-garde punk influenced band from Germany. The winners were announced Friday April 26th. The band won for their very colorful and creative music video for “1, 2, 3, 8,” which is their latest single out now on OK! Good Records (http://okgoodrecords.com). As winners of the contest, the band will enjoy 8 weeks of regular rotation on the MTVu TV channel.

chromatic BLaCK’s video beat out 4 other tough competitors for the honor, which included Ben Howard, The Story So Far, Jamaican Queens  and Papermaps.

The single for “1, 2, 3, 8” is available now on iTunes, and the OK! Good Records website, where it can be streamed for free or purchased as a digital download. The music video is also available to be purchased on iTunes and can be seen on the OK! Good Records YouTube channel.

Dutch DJ/Producer Bart Claessen Single “Showtime” Out On April 30th


One of Bart Claessen’s recent tracks, “Showtime” will be released via Radikal Records in the US and Canada on April 30th.

“Showtime” is one of Bart Claessen’s latest tracks and his first to come out on the Radikal Records imprint. Progressive, big room house mixed with modern electro is the formula for this track. Aggressive and bold, “Showtime” is sure to be a dance floor smasher on any house set.

In response to popular demand about news regarding the arrival of new Gummibär plush toys, Gummybear International has created a waiting list for fans who are eager to get their hands on the new singing dolls. Fans who sign up for the official Gummibär Plush Toy Waiting List  will be notified via email as soon as the new toys are available. The singing plush toys are by far Gummibär’s most popular merchandise item. Unfortunately, due to an overwhelming demand during last year’s holiday season, the plush toys sold out, and their web store, http://gummybearshop.com, has been out of stock on the doll since the beginning of 2013.

However, Gummybear International has been working hard to develop a new and improved version of the plush toy. The new Gummibär plush toys are a little bit bigger, hold a much better likeness to the Gummibär character and of course will still sing “The Gummy Bear Song” when you squeeze the tummy. MC Mario’s latest single entitled “Lose My Mind (Dance Dance)” Feat. Stephane Moraille will be released by Radikal Records in the US. The main radio edit and several remixes will be available on iTunes, Beatport and other music streaming services April 16th.

MC Mario’s reputation is already made in Canada; he is the number one DJ/Producer in the country. The sales of his compilations, the popularity of his radio shows, and the number of fans that come hear him mix, confirms this status.

Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Releases First US Single “Go Hard” Today


Ayah Marar’s latest single “Go Hard” is available today on iTunes via Radikal Records (http://radikal.com).

Ayah Marar’s debut album “The Real,” released in the UK last year, has propelled her to the forefront of the bass music scene. Championed by the likes of Q Magazine (four stars), Dazed Digital, Vibe, Mixmag, Timeout and The Sun who have labelled her the “Queen Of Bass,” it’s clear that Ayah’s army of supporters is ever growing.

Now for the first time, Ayah will see her latest single “Go Hard” released in the US and Canada via Radikal Records. The single is accompanied by two remixes from Destro and Ellington and coincides with the debut of a band new, action packed, superhero-esque animated music video.

New EP From A Genuine Freakshow To Hit US And Canada Via OK! Good Records On April 9th


A Genuine Freakshow’s latest EP, “Where The River Bends,” will be released on April 9th in digital format via OK! Good Records.

On April 9th, UK seven-piece, A Genuine Freakshow, will see their latest EP “Where The River Bends” released in the US and Canada via OK! Good Records on iTunes, Amazon and other music streaming services. The 4 track EP is also available right now on the OK! Good Records website, streaming for free or purchasable as a digital download.

A Genuine Freakshow is an artful blend of pop sensibility, icy soundscapes and blistering walls of noise. Their sound, while impressively focused, covers a range of musical staples, with the group letting influences from Mew to Sigur Ros and The National surface throughout.

Their songs capture quirky and catchy pop akin to Pulp in their pomp and grandeur – and even geeky charm. This ability to combine the poppy elements of indie rock whilst maintaining an intricate, delicate soul is what they do best. With a line-up that adds violin, cello and trumpet to the standard rock four-piece of guitar, bass, drums and vocals, their live shows are a demonstration in how to do epic without slipping into pompous.

After playing over 150 headline and festival shows since the release of debut album “Oftentimes” in late 2010 (later released by OK! Good Records in early 2012), April 2012 saw the band take a step away from the road and head to the studio with long-term collaborator and producer Jordan Fish to record a handful of new songs the band had written and been performing live over the previous summer.

Originally planned to be part of a new album, the songs on “Where The River Bends” ended up being a complete story on their own, so the band decided to release their first brand new music in almost three years.

Lee Dagger and Freedah Soul Team Up For New Single “Free Me” Out April 16


The new single from Lee Dagger featuring Freedah Soul is due for release on April 16th via Radikal Records.

UK based DJ/producer/songwriter Lee Dagger is well known as one half of the production team known as Bimbo Jones. For his latest track however, Lee has teamed up with Swedish singer-songwriter Freedah Soul to produce “Free Me.”

The full single package will be released by Radikal Records digitally in the US and Canada, available on iTunes, Beatport and other streaming services on April 16. In addition, “Free Me” is currently available on the Radikal Records website (http://radikal.com).

“Free Me” is a well travelled song that started out as an instrumental called “System Blue,” written by Lee whilst DJ’ing around Australia. Now featuring a gutsy vocal line by Swedish vocalist and songwriter/producer Freedah Soul, “Free Me” is set to be a go-to track for Lee in his DJ gigs everywhere from Russia to Miami, and Prague to Sydney.

Along with the original mixes is the slamming new remix by LA-based X-Vertigo, whose remix of R.E.M.’s Losing My Religion was hammered by Tiësto.

Australian DJ/Producer I Am Sam To Release Debut Single “Sunlight” in US/Canada


The hot new track from Australian DJ/Producer I Am Sam entitled “Sunlight (feat. Michelangelo)” will be released April 4th via Radikal Records.

I Am Sam has already achieved quite a bit in a short amount of time, rising from a local DJ and aspiring music producer to a national DJ, international producer and top notch remixer. I Am Sam has remixed for the likes of Sarah Mcleod, P Money, Men At Work, and Pablo Calamari (Act Yo Age) to name a few, and his track “Touch The Sky” has received support by the likes of David Guetta, Paul Van Dyk, and the Billboard 100.
