Radikal Records Signs Billboard Top 5 Single With Audio Playground and Snoop Lion

Audio Playground’s “You Never Know” single featuring Snoop Lion will be released on Radikal Records for the United States on August 27th. Visit http://radikal.com for more information.

Audio Playground is the latest collaboration between Canadian producers Rubix & DSL and singer Anthony Gitto. Originally, Audio Playground was a dance music project. But artistic and business ingenuity helped the band accomplish an unexpected crossover into pop, and never looked back.

The trio’s initial line up came together in June of 2009 and immediately burned up the music charts and the dance floor with its first single “(A Little) Respect,” a remake of the new-wave hit by British synth-pop duo Erasure. Their debut song topped the Canadian singles sales charts, remaining in the #1 spot for six consecutive weeks; It has proven to be a best seller on iTunes and been included in popular dance music compilations such as Universal Music Canada’s “Clubland”–the equivalent of the popular British CD series. Not bad for a new act’s debut.

Audio Playground’s latest hit “You Never Know” is a creative reworking of the Bob Marley reggae classic “Could You Be Loved.” Infused with a dance/reggae backbeat and a strong pop-vocal arrangement, the track is elevated to new heights with a rap feature from the one and only Snoop Lion (formally Snoop Dogg). Poised to be a true pop power-house, “You Never Know” has peaked at #5 on the Billboard Dance/Club Charts.

Not to abandon their dance music roots, Audio Playground has amassed a tremendous package of remixes to accompany the release, covering everything from progressive house, to electro, to dub, from DJs like Cahill, David May, Razor & Guido, Erick Morillo and many more.

Radikal Records will be releasing the “You Never Know” single and remixes through digital outlets on August 27th for the United States territory.

X Factor UK Winner Matt Cardle and Spice Girl Melanie C Sign Top 10 Single “Loving You” to Radikal Records

X Factor UK winner Matt Cardle and Spice Girl Melanie C sign Top 10 Single “Loving You” to Radikal Records (http://www.radikal.com). The track will be available on August 20th.

Matt Cardle first took the UK by storm in 2010 when he was crowned the winning contestant on Simon Cowell’s vocal competition show “X Factor.” One of a very elite group of male solo artists with a platinum-selling debut album, Cardle has sold over two million singles and albums combined, and has completed four sell-out UK tours in the past two years.

“Loving You” is the new single from Matt Cardle & Melanie C, co-produced by Cardle with Jamie Scott & Toby Smith (ex-Jamiroquai). The track features Cardle on guitar and drums and will be released world-wide on August 18th, with Radikal Records as the label for the US and Canada release date of August 20th.

Melanie C, better known as Sporty Spice to many, lends her gorgeous vocals to this very sexy duet. No stranger to collaboration, Melanie has been a feature artist on tracks with top artists such as Emma Bunton, TLC’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Bryan Adams. For his song “Loving You,” Matt saw Melanie as a perfect musical partner.

“I met Melanie at the Isle of Wight Festival last year,” says Cardle. “I’m a big fan and I’ve always loved her voice. I had already started writing ‘Loving You,’ and I thought with a few changes it could work perfectly as a duet. I’m really thrilled with the song and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

The steamy music video for “Loving You” has quickly gathered over half a million views on YouTube in just a few weeks, while the passionate interaction between Matt and Melanie on and off camera has be getting lots of tabloid and blog attention.

Oh Snap!! – “Who Let The Douchebags In” single and remixes will be released on iTunes, Beatport, Amazon and other streaming music services on August 6th for the US and Canada.

Oh Snap!! is no stranger to pointing out some of the absurdities of modern nightlife. Back with a new single and his tongue planted firmly in cheek, this time around he’s finally asking the question on everyone’s lips: “Who Let The Douchebags In?”

Sick of the tight t-shirts, over-applied hair gel and the extremely potent stench of cologne in nightclubs, Oh Snap!! takes aim at the overly lame trends sweeping certain parts of the world’s nightlife (*cough* Jersey Shore *cough*) and calls it as he sees it: ridiculous. But that doesn’t stop him from getting into the spirit first in his very entertaining music video. Shirts are optional. May contain traces of drag. You have been warned.

The single will be released on Radikal Records on August 6th,  available on iTunes, Beatport, and other streaming services. The complete single package includes remixes by Bombs Away, J. Rabbit and The Mane Thing. All tracks are available for preview and purchase right now on the Radikal Records website (http://radikal.com).

Queen of Bass Ayah Marar Makes Her US Debut with Her Album “The Real” Available on Radikal Records

Out now, the “Queen Of Bass” Ayah Marar’s new album “The Real” is now available for purchase on iTunes US/Canada from Radikal Records (http://radikal.com).

Well known amongst the electronic music community in the UK, Ayah’s dedication to her music has earned her the rightful title of “The Queen Of Bass.” Her debut album, “The Real” has been attracting widespread attention and critical acclaim, with a recent Vibe Magazine interview, Music Week featuring her song “Alive” as Track Of The Week, and Ayah winning Best Female Artist at the 2013 Drum And Bass Awards.

“The Real” will be released in the US and Canada via Radikal Records (http://radikal.com) on Tuesday, July 9th, available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Beatport and other music streaming services. The physical CD will be available from major music retailers with 3 exclusive bonus remix tracks.

Ayah will no doubt be attracting even more attention with her vocal appearance on the latest Calvin Harris single, “Thinking About You,” the last single Calvin will be promoting off his album “18 Months.” The track is already getting major radio play in the US, as well as worldwide, prior to its release on August 5th. Just as people become aware of Ayah Marar from her work with Calvin Harris, they’ll also have the opportunity to discover her as a solo artist, and her passion for dance music.

Dance music is a broad church, but within each parish there’s usually a set of rules. A doesn’t always go with B, and X shouldn’t really mix with Y, but sometimes those rules are meant to be broken or manipulated into odd new shapes. Ayah Marar’s kaleidoscopic debut album, “The Real,” is a case in point: thirteen songs that take inspiration from the underground dance scene, cherry-picking the very best elements of drum and bass, techno and house and bolting them onto well-crafted pop hooks set to shatter dance floors. “It’s an homage to dance music in whatever form, whether it’s garage or two step or house or drum and bass,” she explains.

With seemingly every other new pop star trying to marry a gargantuan dance beat to a pretty melody, it’s a competitive world. The difference here is that Ayah Marar isn’t faking it. She lives the life of an underground dance fiend, of a DJ and MC, of a strong woman in a male-dominated industry. Her two worlds, the underground and the mainstream, have been brought together organically, co-existing in a way that sounds fresh rather than forced. “I’m trying something that I don’t think has been done in the way we’re trying to do it,” Marar states. “It’s what I love to do; it’s trying to find that balance.”

Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Releases “Lethal Dose” Single And Music Video

Out now, the “Queen Of Bass” Ayah Marar’s new music video for “Lethal Dose” hits the Vevo YouTube network. The single is also available for purchase on iTunes US/Canada from Radikal Records (http://radikal.com).

The beautiful and artistic Ms. Marar has taken us on an eventful journey over the last few months releasing hit after hit from her debut album “The Real.” Lethal Dose is Ayah’s 6th single from her debut album to come out on her imprint Hussle Girl in the UK, but merely the 2nd single made available to US and Canada fans via Radikal Records. With Radikal planning the full unveiling of “The Real” in North America for July 9th, “Lethal Dose” is another tastey morsel to wet the appetite of hungry EDM fans who are just beginning to get to know Ayah.

“The Real” has already received championing support from Q Magazine who gave it four stars. Dazed Digital, Vibe, Mixmag, Timeout and The Sun have all labeled Ayah the “Queen Of Bass.”

Following on from her club ready record “Go Hard,” “Lethal Dose” dives deep into the darkness of desire and obsession and addresses the effects of emotional and physical addiction. The video for “Lethal Dose” displays a stripped back version of Ayah, and we’re invited in to a more sensitive and vulnerable side of the songstress that we haven’t seen before. Filmed within the warehouses where Ayah is now living, Ayah says, “The making of the video really brought us together as a creative family and community, and touched on the phenomenon that is warehouse life.”

Ayah has been extremely busy this year since signing a deal with US record label, Radikal Records. As well as running her own label, Ayah also finds time to tour the world and host her own monthly radio show on BBC Radio 1xtra. With everything shifting around her, Ayah can always count on one thing remaining constant and that’s her close connection with long-standing friend Calvin Harris. After Ayah released the video for “Lethal Dose” this week, Calvin took to Twitter to show his support by saying, “Amazing work from one of my best friends.”

With a jammed pack festival season and back-to-back tour diary Ayah continues to live out her legacy as the “Queen Of Bass.” The single package for “Lethal Dose” is available now in the US and Canada on iTunes and includes an incredible remix track from French producer, Dilemn.
