Slop Rock Teams Up With US MC Whiskey Pete For “Super Dope” Single Out April 23rd

The new single from Slop Rock & Whiskey Pete entitled “Super Dope” will be released on April 23rd on Radikal Records. Visit http://radikal.com for more information.

Coming soon to Radikal Records is “Super Dope,” an explosive collaboration between up and coming Aussie DJ/production duo, Slop Rock, and US MC Whiskey Pete. The “Super Dope” single package includes several remixes and edits and is scheduled for release on iTunes and Beatport on April 23rd. The single can also be previewed or purchased directly from the Radikal website, starting today.

Slop Rock has become serious contenders in the Australian club scene over the past 12 months. Off the back of their last two club hits “Revolution” and “Hero” comes the equally epically titled “Super Dope.” This time they team up with US MC, Whiskey Pete, a voice many would recognize from his work with TJR, Sue Cho, DJ Bam Bam and Figure. The original mix has a cheeky and filthy synth hook over booming bass kicks. Gigi Barocco (fresh off his work with the Bloody Beetroots) has produced the kind of epic electro slammer that would make Feed Me want to hang up his hat and call it a day. Apocolyto and Heath Renata have each issued mandatory dance orders with their unique main room interpretations. Finally, Wellsaid and Rubberteeth have the jacking alternative for house music purists.

Track Listing

01. Original Mix
02. Gigi Barocco Remix
03. Apocalypto Remix
04. Heath Renata Remix
05. Wellsaid & Rubberteeth Remix
06. Gigi Barocco Instrumental Mix

Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Signs with Radikal Records to Release Debut Album “The Real” in US and Canada

Introducing Ayah Marar, the “Queen Of Bass.” Ayah Marar’s debut acclaimed album “The Real” will be released on Radikal Records this summer.

Radikal Records is proud to announce the signing of one of the hardest working artists in the dance music genre, Ayah Marar. Well known amongst the electronic music community in the UK, Ayah’s dedication to her music has earned her the rightful title of “The Queen Of Bass.” Her debut album, “The Real” has been attracting wide spread attention and critical acclaim with a recent Vibe Magazine interview, Music Week featuring her song “Alive” as Track Of The Week, and Ayah winning Best Female Artist in the 2013 Drum And Bass Awards. “The Real” will be released by Radikal Records in North America in early summer this year.

Dance music is a broad church, but within each parish there’s usually a set of rules. A doesn’t always go with B, and X shouldn’t really mix with Y, but sometimes those rules are meant to be broken or manipulated into odd new shapes. Ayah Marar’s kaleidoscopic debut album, “The Real,” is a case in point: thirteen songs that take inspiration from the underground dance scene, cherry-picking the very best elements of drum and bass, techno and house and bolting them onto well-crafted pop hooks that look set to shatter dance floors. “It’s an homage to dance music in whatever form, whether it’s garage or two step or house or drum and bass,” she explains.

With seemingly every other new pop star trying to marry a gargantuan dance beat to a pretty melody, it’s a competitive world. The difference here is that Ayah Marar isn’t faking it. She lives the life of an underground dance fiend, of a DJ and MC, of a strong woman in a male-dominated industry. Her two worlds, the underground and the mainstream, have been brought together organically, co-existing in a way that sounds fresh rather than forced. “I’m trying something that I don’t think has been done in the way we’re trying to do it,” Marar states. “It’s what I love to do; it’s trying to find that balance.”

Hip Hop Duo I.O.U. from South Brunswick NJ Release Debut Album on Radikal Records

I.O.U., aka Inside Our Universe, have teamed up with Radikal Records to release their first full-length album in digital format. “The Soul And The Intellect” can be previewed and purchased right now on iTunes, with other digital outlets coming very soon (see http://radikal.com for details).

Radikal Records is proud to announce the worldwide release of I.O.U.’s debut album “The Soul & The Intellect,” available now on iTunes. I.O.U., an acronym for Inside Our Universe, is comprised of Izee and Buck, two young artists from South Brunswick, NJ who have created a following with their clean, mainstream pop/hip-hop sound, comparable to acts such as Black Eyed Peas.

After three school pride anthems that went viral, and three mixtape releases in the past two years garnering attention from their Rutgers University colleagues and fellow college students across the country and beyond, opening for countless acts such as Big Sean, Far East Movement, Jake Miller and more, the boys linked up with Radikal Records to release their debut album.

“The Soul & The Intellect” reflects the characters of both Buck and Izee, laidback Buck being the soul of the duo, and methodical Izee, producer behind the entire project, the intellect. Also featured as a vocalist on two tracks off the album is Evangelia, a Rutgers University student. When she’s not studying pre-med, you can catch her performing at the local coffee shops armed with her guitar and powerful voice.

Emerging Artist Salt Ashes Announces Single Debut With “Somebody”

Salt Ashes’ first single “Somebody” will be released in digital format on January 14th via Radikal Records. Visit http://www.radikal.com for more information.

Emerging singer Salt Ashes, aka 22 year old Veiga Sanchez, announces her debut single “Somebody,” set for release on January 14th on Radikal Records via all major digital outlets, including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.

On “Somebody,” Salt Ashes brings to life the imaginings of Kate Bush dancing in a haunted Studio 54 to electronic pulsing grooves and lyrical escapism “Somebody take me… away.” “Somebody” is complemented by the B-side “Little Dove,” a jewel of a track with fragmented, brooding vocals. The package is tied up with UK Dj/Producer Cruelty’s soulful, slick italo-disco remix of the original “Somebody.”

A special edition 12″ vinyl single is also planned for release some time in February or early March. Only 1,000 units will be produced of this sure to be collector’s item, with limited distribution in the US and UK. Fans can check the Radikal Records for news regarding the release of the vinyl single.

Obsessed with Giorgio Moroder’s blend of disco and epic dark atmospheres, Salt Ashes first sprang to attention with her cover of Depeche Mode’s “Black Celebration.” Salt Ashes has spent the past year honing her own songs in the studio, creating her signature electronic grooves, and drawing influence from artists as diverse as Madonna, Kate Bush, Daft Punk and MIA.

“Somebody” is just the first taste of this young talent, Salt Ashes, who will be releasing her first full length album sometime in the summer of 2014.

Jidax, Enzo Darren and Chester Rushing Team Up for Single “Paint The World”

Jidax and Enzo Darren’s “Paint The World” featuring Chester Rushing will be released on January 14th on all major digital outlets, including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify via Radikal Records. Visit http://www.radikal.com for more information.

Jidax and Enzo Darren’s “Paint The World” featuring Chester Rushing will be released on January 14th on all major digital outlets, including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify via Radikal Records. The single package also includes remixes by Lush & Simon and Dirty Rush & Gregor Es. All tracks may be listened to for free or purchased on the Radikal Records website.

“Paint The World,” an inspirational club track with an uplifting vocal melody is the result of a collaboration between some familiar and up-and-coming names in EDM.

At a time of constant thunder for the ranks of EDM, Jidax have let their spotless arsenal of peak time crowd pleasers do all the talking. Coined as the “French Phenomenon” courtesy of their consistent releases and taken under the wing of superstar DJ turned mentor Steve Aoki, support from Tiesto, Afrojack and Thomas Gold alike has heralded that for all their youthful exuberance, the young Parisian duo has set a new precedent in the audacity modern electro can breath into the equation of modern dance music.

Enzo Darren is one of the most up-and-coming EDM artists of his generation. His signature sound, based on catchy melodies and heavy beats, gives his music a unique imprint. Supported by the world’s biggest DJs and producers including Nicky Romero, Tiesto, W&W and Dada Life, he has signed several successful releases on Ferry Corsten’s label Flashover Recordings. He often hits Beatport Progressive House Top 100. In early 2013 he obtained the Swedish Platinum Award for collaborating as remixer on the track ‘Dance Our Tears Away’ by John De Sohn. Enzo Darren represents, without doubt, the new face of the french house music scene.

Chester Rushing is a young, American singer songwriter who’s hot on the heels of super-stardom. “Paint The World” is his first offering into the EDM genre, but perhaps not his last.
