Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Signs with Radikal Records to Release Debut Album “The Real” in US and Canada

Introducing Ayah Marar, the “Queen Of Bass.” Ayah Marar’s debut acclaimed album “The Real” will be released on Radikal Records this summer.

Radikal Records is proud to announce the signing of one of the hardest working artists in the dance music genre, Ayah Marar. Well known amongst the electronic music community in the UK, Ayah’s dedication to her music has earned her the rightful title of “The Queen Of Bass.” Her debut album, “The Real” has been attracting wide spread attention and critical acclaim with a recent Vibe Magazine interview, Music Week featuring her song “Alive” as Track Of The Week, and Ayah winning Best Female Artist in the 2013 Drum And Bass Awards. “The Real” will be released by Radikal Records in North America in early summer this year.

Dance music is a broad church, but within each parish there’s usually a set of rules. A doesn’t always go with B, and X shouldn’t really mix with Y, but sometimes those rules are meant to be broken or manipulated into odd new shapes. Ayah Marar’s kaleidoscopic debut album, “The Real,” is a case in point: thirteen songs that take inspiration from the underground dance scene, cherry-picking the very best elements of drum and bass, techno and house and bolting them onto well-crafted pop hooks that look set to shatter dance floors. “It’s an homage to dance music in whatever form, whether it’s garage or two step or house or drum and bass,” she explains.

With seemingly every other new pop star trying to marry a gargantuan dance beat to a pretty melody, it’s a competitive world. The difference here is that Ayah Marar isn’t faking it. She lives the life of an underground dance fiend, of a DJ and MC, of a strong woman in a male-dominated industry. Her two worlds, the underground and the mainstream, have been brought together organically, co-existing in a way that sounds fresh rather than forced. “I’m trying something that I don’t think has been done in the way we’re trying to do it,” Marar states. “It’s what I love to do; it’s trying to find that balance.”

Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Releases “Lethal Dose” Single And Music Video

Out now, the “Queen Of Bass” Ayah Marar’s new music video for “Lethal Dose” hits the Vevo YouTube network. The single is also available for purchase on iTunes US/Canada from Radikal Records (http://radikal.com).

The beautiful and artistic Ms. Marar has taken us on an eventful journey over the last few months releasing hit after hit from her debut album “The Real.” Lethal Dose is Ayah’s 6th single from her debut album to come out on her imprint Hussle Girl in the UK, but merely the 2nd single made available to US and Canada fans via Radikal Records. With Radikal planning the full unveiling of “The Real” in North America for July 9th, “Lethal Dose” is another tastey morsel to wet the appetite of hungry EDM fans who are just beginning to get to know Ayah.

“The Real” has already received championing support from Q Magazine who gave it four stars. Dazed Digital, Vibe, Mixmag, Timeout and The Sun have all labeled Ayah the “Queen Of Bass.”

Following on from her club ready record “Go Hard,” “Lethal Dose” dives deep into the darkness of desire and obsession and addresses the effects of emotional and physical addiction. The video for “Lethal Dose” displays a stripped back version of Ayah, and we’re invited in to a more sensitive and vulnerable side of the songstress that we haven’t seen before. Filmed within the warehouses where Ayah is now living, Ayah says, “The making of the video really brought us together as a creative family and community, and touched on the phenomenon that is warehouse life.”

Ayah has been extremely busy this year since signing a deal with US record label, Radikal Records. As well as running her own label, Ayah also finds time to tour the world and host her own monthly radio show on BBC Radio 1xtra. With everything shifting around her, Ayah can always count on one thing remaining constant and that’s her close connection with long-standing friend Calvin Harris. After Ayah released the video for “Lethal Dose” this week, Calvin took to Twitter to show his support by saying, “Amazing work from one of my best friends.”

With a jammed pack festival season and back-to-back tour diary Ayah continues to live out her legacy as the “Queen Of Bass.” The single package for “Lethal Dose” is available now in the US and Canada on iTunes and includes an incredible remix track from French producer, Dilemn.

Queen Of Bass Ayah Marar Releases First US Single “Go Hard” Today

Ayah Marar’s latest single “Go Hard” is available today on iTunes via Radikal Records (http://radikal.com).

Ayah Marar’s debut album “The Real,” released in the UK last year, has propelled her to the forefront of the bass music scene. Championed by the likes of Q Magazine (four stars), Dazed Digital, Vibe, Mixmag, Timeout and The Sun who have labelled her the “Queen Of Bass,” it’s clear that Ayah’s army of supporters is ever growing.

Now for the first time, Ayah will see her latest single “Go Hard” released in the US and Canada via Radikal Records. The single is available on iTunes and the Radikal website (http://radikal.com) today. The single is accompanied by two remixes from Destro and Ellington and coincides with the debut of a band new, action packed, superhero-esque animated music video.

“Go Hard” should serve as a terrific introduction for Ayah to EDM music fans all over the North American continent, with more singles and a full release of “The Real” to come in the summer of 2013 via Radikal Records.

Ayah isn’t one to shy away from her love for the club and admits that raving is engraved in her soul. “Go Hard” pays homage to her dance floor roots and its bashy, bold nature oozes with the Jordan-born girl’s infectious attitude. Featuring close friend and fellow tour companion Illaman, “Go Hard” is packed with buoyant percussion and a sensually smooth bassline.

To say Ms. Marar has been busy would be an understatement. Since the start of the year Ayah’s been awarded “Best Female Artist” at The National Drum & Bass Awards, she’s started her own show on BBC Radio 1xtra, toured Europe, and recently signed a deal with US record label, Radikal Records. If all that wasn’t enough, Ayah still finds time to run her own label, Hussle Girl, which continues to open doors for new, aspiring artists.

Ayah has also been enjoying the incredible response to her album track with Calvin Harris, “Thinking About You,” which went to #1 in the Hype Machine last year. Ayah and Calvin’s friendship can be traced far back and their fans will be extremely excited to hear that they’re getting back in the studio together very soon.
